Nuance Healing

Knowledge is the begining of Wisdom

Meet Sonia

Natural Health Practitioner

In 2005 Sonia and her husband were set on a path they never imagined for themselves when their children were diagnosed with autism. They were told their younger son would never speak and would need to be institutionalised and that when he became a teenager he would become violent, aggressive and unmanageable.

This was the catalyst that propelled Sonia into her current passion and zeal.

She has researched and studied and continues to do so, the root causes of autism, as well as many western world ailments that plague us today like cancer, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, diabetes and dementia.

She recognised her own trauma and that of her husband's, played a significant role in their children's lives and their diagnoses.

Her journey through autism caused her to deep dive into the world of the nervous system, how emotions controlled neurons, and their role on our physiology.

There was the genetics card that is often quoted at a time of diagnoses, this didn't fly, once she understood trauma and its effect on an individual's this would surely affect gene expression.

Epigenetics would come into play as our mental environment affected their activation or dormancy.

She looked at all the above and its impact on microorganisms within and on the body.

The body and how it functions is a fasinating and impressive system that has been hidden and vailed from us.

Her Journey through autism has helped other people heal. I encourage you to have a good rummage through these pages, and see if they help you ....

Why Naturopathy?

It addresses the route of our symptoms

The body has a bank account

Our body needs certain enzymes and nutrients to carry out the methylation cycle
Methylation is a process of making molecules stable, which is important for a wide range of metabolic functions in the body.
In brief, it processes DNA and RNA, (reading and storing our genetic information) and repairs DNA.
Methylation is a biochemical process in which methyl groups (CH3, a single carbon atom and three hydrogen atoms) are transferred from one molecule to another. It occurs several million times inside the body, producing power/energy to all our cells.
Our body requires a lot of different resources to sustain itself, these resources include:
Potassium, Magnesium, Manganese, Calcium, Iron, Copper, Phosphorus, Carbons, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Glucose, Proteins, Fats etc
These nurture our brain, hormone, and neuron cells.
Our bodies function similarly to a bank account, when our body starts to run low on these resources, it will either try to save the resources or freeze itself. One symptom of this state of being is depression.
However, if we understand what uses up our resources very quickly, we can start to manage our body bank account more effectively.
One way our resources are depleted quickly is through the mind.

Our mind is a fascinating and curious entity. It learns from the womb and during its formative years that some experiences are a threat. The mind will avoid these threats at all costs.
So when the mind has detected a perceived threat, the brain activates the appropriate electrical circuits which require valuable resources.
We believe that in any situation we sense and then we react. However, this is not the case. The mind is constantly scanning its database which was established in its formative years. Our mind is avoiding any threat that may occur.
So, the present we are experiencing is perceived from these past experiences. Our brain in turn activates the appropriate responses
For example: heart rate goes up, eyes dilate, run/argue, expectation of taste/smell, what mood to be in....
Based on trillions and trillions of repetitions our mind is predicting every word/action/that may happen next, based on previous bad experiences!
All these thoughts produce action, and actions use up your body's resources to varying degrees...

Microorganism

The microbiome is a world that lives and functions within us. Microbes are found in our intestines, on our skin, within our ears, mouth, throat, all through our body. Trillions of microbes abide and work for us. Within the intestine, they extract the nutrients from our food, balance our mood, sharpen clarity and concentration, detox and build our immune system.
There are more bacteria on the Earth than there are animals. More bacteria on the ocean floor than fish in the
sea and more in the Earth core than on the ocean floor. Bacteria outnumber our cells approximately 10 - 1. Microbes have more cells and genes than our bodies.
They are crucial to good health and must be given the right conditions within our bodies to grow and thrive in balance and abundance so that we grow and thrive and remain healthy.

Our bodys are made up of

500,000 species of bacteria

300,000 species of parasites

5 million spies of fungi
What we put into and on our body determines their health,

Bacteria is the bedrock of life on Earth, yet for decades we have been destroying the planet in the name of commerce. We wipe out vast hectares of land all over the World, clearing trees, wildlife and as a consequence microorganism so that we can have fruits and vegetables 24/7.
In order to sustain this business without the right resources (eco-balance), we turn to synthetics such as glyphosate, (pesticides, herbicides, fungicides).

All these chemicals destroy microorganisms on the Earth. Then we process these "foods" into oils, cereals, tinned food, snacks, baby foods/formulas, every food you can imagine that laden our shop shelves. Not only do they lack nutrition but the microbiome within us is then damaged by the glyphosate on these foods we consume, disrupting our ecosystem, affecting our hormones, and killing off neurons.

The common idea of a detox can be a detour away from optimal eating habits and a false quick fix.
By suggesting we need a “reboot” does not get to the root, it merely grapples with the branches.
We require a process that restores our energy and health permanently. Not the deprivation, of a quick detox that puts us in an unproductive cycle of regular detoxing and status quo of needing it.
Antioxidants and phytochemicals in nutrient-rich foods to support our entire body is necessary, but not, in the first instance, getting to the root of a problem or ailment is. We have detoxed and employed "healthy eating" for decades yet we still find ourselves falling back to our old ways! Why?
Microorganism within our intestine is the secret to health. Weight loss, wellness, energy, mood, balance, are all achieved through the health and presence of our microbiome. Perhaps it is more accurate to say that our bodies need a reset, rather than a reboot. Other treatments will aid, promote, effect healing; but the microbiome will ensure it and maintain it; and so, a new and positive cycle is born, one that sits us in health as the new norm, not dis/ease.

The Emotional Centres in the Brain are Connected to our Body

Let's take a look at trauma and its role in our physiology.

Trauma comes from the Greek word wound/piercing. So Trauma is a psychological wound.
Where is this place "psychological"? Is it a physical place, and if so, how do we get there to tend to it?
Triggers affect us; they are seldom or purposely aimed at us, yet penetrate with accuracy and precision. We have been duped into believing that the body and how it manifests (what is referenced as dis- ease), have no relationship to the individuals' complex mind, which was potentially formed generations ago.

Our foundational beliefs towards ourselves, positive or negative, take root during our childhood. How we deal with adversity later in life has been conditioned by that time….
Traumatic events in our lives; if not allowed to be both acknowledged and expressed, often manifest in the way of sickness in our bodies and souls and consequently negatively impact our children and their offspring.

"We cannot solve our problems with the same level of thinking that created them." Albert Einstein

Childhood nurturing significantly affects our body and is stored in our cells, muscles, and fascia. It can affect our digestion, thyroid, bowels, etc...
To reverse this, you need to step into the uncomfortable.
Meditating on past traumas does not heal us but instead reaffirms its damage to us and our bodies. Achieving different results requires a dramatic change in methodology.

A paradigm shift is required. Being proactive, gaining a new perspective, and so, a healthy functioning body can occur.
